Shadow Copy is a simple program that copies all files from one place to another on your operating system, especially windows. Unlike the other usual file managers, such as Windows Explorer or third party file managers, Shadow Copy will copy all files, including locked file and files that being used by a program. The copying of locked files made possible by using Microsoft’s Volume Shadow Services (VSS).
Beside that, you are also can copy your entire system to create a backup. You can easily copy the content of an entire hard disk to another disk. If you copy, for example, C: to D:, you will even be able to boot from that drive. Since Shadow Copy is capable of tranferring all the system files you will have an almost exact clone.
