On windows 7, we can pin a shortcut onto Windows 7 taskbar as we done before on the article How to Pin Recycle Bin into Windows 7 Taskbar. But, it is not the quick launch. So, where is the Quick Launch on Windows 7? Is it removed on windows 7? No. The quick launch is still in windows 7. We can restore Quick Launch in Windows 7 in a few steps.
- Right click on Windows 7 taskbar then point to Toolbars »» New Toolbar.
- On the new toolbar dialog windows type in “%AppData%MicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick Launch” (without qoutes) and click Select Folder button.
- The Quick Launch has created on the taskbar. You can drag it to the left of taskbar.
- If you can drag it to the left of taskbar, you should unlock the taskbar first. To do so, right click on taskbar, uncheck Lock the taskbar option.
- You can hide the text of Quick Launch by right clicking on quick launch then uncheck the Show Title option. You can also hide the shortcut’s name by unchecking the Show Text option.





All done. Now you have restored Quick Launch on Windows 7 taskbar. You can add more icons by drag the icon onto it.
